When We Don't Think They are Paying Attention...

One of my daughters is nonverbal, so she uses a Vantage speech device. She usually only requests things (generally food) or stims on the sound of the device.

However, the other day my mom was watching the girls for me and she told me this story:

Lotus was on the couch, minding her own business and stimming* on her speech device. Celest was arguing with my mom about something (probably going outside or getting more snacks). My mom was raising her voice, trying to get Celest to listen to her.

Without really looking in their direction or giving any outward appearance of noticing the altercation between her sister and grandma, Lotus typed this on her Vantage, "Grandma yelling, yelling"!
The photo is from an old mess that Celest made with a ten pound bag of flour that was left out on the counter overnight...

Well, they are very resourceful children, aren't they? :) My kids can make a mess out of anything...
